Old machines that still run today
Do you have their drawings?
Special-purpose machines and production equipment that have been in use since the company's founding
The machine still runs, but its drawings were not kept, or do not match the actual machine——
We turn such analog machines into 3D data and drawings, in a form anyone can understand digitally (DiO conducts the discussions, and CAD/BIM production is carried out with production partners)
Our aim is to build a foundation that lets you move quickly on repairs and parts-making even when an old machine without drawings breaks down
Whether you remake a part, ask for a repair or consider a renovation, having drawings and data in hand is the starting point
Footage is illustrative
Two ways in
- A. If you have paper drawings: paper drawings → CAD → BIM
- B. If you have no drawings: discussions, photos of the machine and hand measurements → BIM
Then from BIM to CAD drawings
Either way, the goal is the same
Please consult us according to the state of your drawings

Do any of these sound familiar?
- The machine runs, but there are no drawings
- Worried about whether parts can be remade if it breaks down
- The craftspeople or manufacturer's contacts who knew the machine are gone
- You want to plan a renovation or update, but do not know the current state
Preserving the machine digitally while it is "still running fine" is the preparation that lets you act quickly when it breaks down
What we provide — two entry points and three stages according to purpose
A. 3D of the current state
We preserve the current form of the machine as data, based on discussions, photos and hand measurements
You can consult us even at the stage of just wanting to keep a record
B. 3D for renovation and maintenance
We create 3D in a form you can use for parts replacement and maintenance plans
We decide which parts to keep, and in how much detail, according to your purpose
C. BIM and drawing linkage
We connect paper drawings to CAD, and BIM to CAD drawings
Where needed, we extend into BIM
We prepare the result in a form that is easy to share with design and renovation staff and partner companies
Only A, A and B, or A through C—we combine them according to the equipment and your purpose
Pricing is quoted for each piece of equipment
For equipment in industries such as
Casting and forging, resin molding, press work and sheet metal, special industrial machinery, food, printing and packaging, textiles and dyeing, woodworking and building materials, and more
Whatever the industry, we take on consultations about "machines built for a specific purpose and used for a long time"
How it works
- Free online consultation (meeting): we ask about the type of machine and your concerns by email or online
- First visit: on-site check and quote: two DiO staff visit, check the condition of the machine and prepare a quote (actual costs of the on-site survey are borne by the customer)
- Second visit: discussion, photography and measurement: we ask how the machine is used and where it tends to wear, take photos, and measure with calipers and scales
We also read the drawings that remain
The discussion can also be held online
For distant locations or depending on the work, an overnight stay may be required (actual costs) - CAD and BIM production: carried out with production partners
We build the parts in CAD and 3D, and assemble the whole machine as BIM - Delivery and use: we hand over the CAD drawings and data for the parts you need, and also advise on how to use them for maintenance and parts ordering

How DiO works (technology)
- In addition to discussions and photographs of the machine, we grasp its dimensions and shape through hand measurement with calipers, scales and sketches, and draw it in CAD (CAD/BIM production is carried out with production partners)
- We can also extend the CAD information we create into BIM
- The experience of digitizing cultural properties in high definition is applied to equipment records
Frequently asked questions
Can you handle machines with no drawings at all?
Yes, please consult us
We build BIM from discussions, photos and hand measurements, and turn it into CAD drawings of the parts you need
CAD and BIM production is carried out with production partners
The approach and scope we can cover depend on the condition of the machine and the information available, so please tell us the details first
Is the consultation free? Will it cost anything?
The online consultation (meeting) is free
For on-site surveys of the machine (visits for checking, photographing and measuring), the actual costs are borne by the customer
For amounts and breakdowns, please contact us
Pricing is quoted for each piece of equipment
Is special equipment required for measurement?
No
We mainly work with hand measurement using calipers and scales, photos and sketches
There is no need to bring in large-scale equipment
Do we need to stop the machine for photography and measurement?
It depends on the machine and the places being measured
To keep the impact on production as small as possible, we decide the stop times and working days with you in advance
Can you use old hand-drawn or faded drawings?
Yes
We redraw using dimensions that can be read from the drawings and measurements of the actual machine for parts that cannot be read
We also organize the results so that it is clear where we have filled in by estimation
Will the confidentiality of drawings and data be protected?
Drawings and data entrusted to us are handled with care as confidential company information
If you wish, we proceed after concluding a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) in advance
Can you handle precision machines, or machines for which the manufacturer's information is unavailable?
For precision machines, some cases are difficult to handle, such as when information from the manufacturer (specifications, dimensions, materials and so on) cannot be obtained
We judge whether we can respond after hearing the details, so please consult us first
